How to Remove Shortcuts and Widgets from the Samsung Galaxy Tab homepage screen?

1. Whilst in standby mode, touch and hold down onto an item for a few seconds. The item (shortcut/widget), will be magnified for just under a second, and a trash can icon will appear within the screen's application area.
2. Drag the item to the trash can.
3. When both the item and the trash can appear red, release the item. The item will have been deleted from the screen
