What kind of cable do I need for the digital optical output port on my Samsung TV?

To use the digital optical output jack on your TV you need a standard digital optical cable. A standard digital optical cable is a fiber optic cable with a TOSLINK connector at both ends.
An example of a TOSLINK connector is pictured below:
